Registering your address in Sapporo
Sapporo takes the notification at the household registry and residents section (戸籍住民課) of the ward office for your new address. Kita Ward residents can also use the Shinoro branch (篠路出張所) and Minami Ward residents the Jozankei branch (定山渓出張所). The city does not accept a notification before you have moved, and the deadline is 14 days from the day you move. If you arrive from abroad, bring every mover’s passport and, if you came through an airport face-recognition gate, a printed e-ticket or a boarding pass stub, because the passport may not show the entry date.
